Recruitment

OCRA offers researchers study-specific recruitment strategies for volunteer participants, study sites and study team members. Our goal is to streamline your efforts by helping to identify various business and community venues as well as social media platforms to meet your study recruitment needs.

As FSU’s institutional liaison for ResearchMatch, OCRA can assist with this online recruitment tool for study participants. Launched nationwide by Vanderbilt University, the ResearchMatch database contains tens of thousands of volunteers across the country who want to participate in health-related research.

FSU researchers have two types of access to ResearchMatch: feasibility and recruitment. Feasibility access allows the researcher to view aggregate data of potential study volunteers in the database, which is helpful for cohort determination. Recruitment access allows researchers with IRB-approved protocols to search and contact study volunteers. The researcher uses the study criteria along with geographic, demographic, health condition and medication filters on ResearchMatch to generate a de-identified group of volunteers who “match” the study criteria.

Community

OCRA also can assist FSU researchers interested in finding community study sites and clinical collaborators for clinical and translational research. FSU has longstanding relationships with healthcare institutions in Tallahassee and across Florida for educational and research opportunities involving students in the health sciences colleges and the College of Medicine residency programs. Many of these relationships also present a number of opportunities for FSU faculty to find clinical research collaborators and/or study sites.

Our office also will assist in helping you find part-time study team members such as research nurses, physician assistants or other healthcare professionals with the clinical skills needed for your study. Contact OCRA to discuss your recruitment needs.
